Mount Meru Climbing
Widely considered as a warm-up before climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru is a stunning height by itself to climb. Acquiring 4,566m high, this volcanic mountain is Tanzania’s second highest mountain. Situated roughly 70km Southwest of Kilimanjaro and East of the Great Rift Valley is the fourth highest mountain in Africa. Laying within the Arusha National Park the mountain doesn’t only provide a stunning trekking way but also it enables the opportunity to spot a good range of wildlife.
Among highest mountains found in Africa mainly located in East Africa Tanzania . It is a volcanic mountain. The route to the summit pass through montane forest, parkland , moorlands and heather zones. At the summit through a narrow barren ridge you will view the ash cone below the nearby Mount Kilimanjaro. The route is advised to tourists as an acclimatization before trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro. Days are few about 4 days at the maximum through Arusha National park where you will enjoy viewing different species of birds, elephants, buffaloes, baboons, warthogs , black and white colobus monkeys and duikers in abundance. An armed ranger will accompany the team and wilder heritage guide as the leader . Also we have a 10 days package for both Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro via Machame route, umbwe route, Rongai Route, and Marangu Route.

We start at your hotel after breakfast from Moshi to Momela gate for inspection and registration as usually. After that you will start the trek through parkland up to Miriakamba hut. Along the way you will view different varieties of wildlife and bird species and fig tree. Dinner will be served here with briefing from your guide about the next day.

Habitat: forest to moorlands and heather
The route will pass us through fine forest vegetation and heather to saddle hut a three to four hours steep trekking 1000m higher. You will be able to view and ascend to little Meru in the afternoon gain a good altitude acclimatization. Lunch will be served at saddle hut. In the evening dinner will be served early and a briefing with a half sleep.

Today the start is very early 2:00Am taking us to a view point of rhino point on the crater rim. From here we trail through a ridge up to the summit about 4-5 hours to socialist peak 4562m. After taking pictures we descend to saddle hut for lunch and short nap. After a short rest we descend straight back to Miriakamba hut for dinner and overnight.

On this day we walk back to Momela gate for signing out and being provided with your certificate before boarding a vehicle transport us back to your hotel. Tips are highly recommended to be given to the crew at the Momela gate.
