The Lemosho Route is widely considered one of the best routes due to the scenic trails and panoramic vistas. Like Machame Route, Lemosho is a superb choice for a hiker due to the high summit success rate for Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing.
Difficulty – Medium
Distance – 70km/43miles
Duration – 7-8 Days
Success Rate – High
The Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route is newer and approaches Kilimanjaro from the west. The journey begins at Londorossi Gate and the route was introduced as a substitute to the Shira Route which trails starts from a higher, more challenging altitude.
Lemosho Route is a little wild and you may get to spot large buffalo, antelope, and maybe even elephant. The route is also home to some primates such as black and white colobus monkey, blue monkeys etc.
7 to 8 days Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing is recommended for good acclimatization. Wilder Heritage highly recommend to take the Lemosho Route 8 Days so as to make them acclimatize and enjoy the scenario which is unforgettable and spectacular.
The Lemosho Route 8 Days gives one of the highest Kilimanjaro Success Rate, rather than trying to squeeze the climb into 7 days. The extra day allows for a shorter pre-summit day, meaning that you arrive at base camp by lunch time, fuel up with food, and tuck up in your tent to rest for what will be a tough summit ascent starting at midnight.
The exact climbing distance for the Lemosho Route is 67km or 41 miles.
Due to its longer length profile, Lemosho Route Success Rate are one of the highest on the mountain. Whilst there are no official statistics, the average success rate across all operators is 90% for the 8-days climb and an 85% success rate for the 7-days climb.
The Lemosho Route is considered to be the most scenically beautiful of all the routes. The route takes in the west and south of the mountain and the views are incredible, particularly from on the southern circuit.
