CAN I CLIMB WITHOUT A GUIDE?

NO. All trekkers are to be accompanied by a registered and licensed guide. That's mandatory by the government and only official routes are recommended to climb.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO CLIMB KILIMANJARO?

The best time to climb Mount Kilimanjaro is between January and February and between July and October.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REACH THE SUMMIT OF KILIMANJARO?

Depends on the route you chose, minimum 5 days and maximum 8 days. Taking extra days is good for acclimatization.

HOW CAN I CHOOSE THE BEST TOUR OPERATOR?

There are over 200 tour operators offering a variety of services including premium add-ons. Always better to go with operators who have experience in the field, have locals as guides who know the mountain better than anyone else. The cost and services also matters. You need to do deep research.

WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS?

Sleeping is in sleeping bags with sleeping bag liner to add an extra layer to keep you warm.

CAN YOU RENT GEARS THERE AS WELL?

ARE THERE ANY TOILETS OR SHOWER FACILITIES ON THE CLIMB?

Yes, referred to as long drop. But it's the bushes where most do their business unless they are willing to fork out extra for portable toilet.
